What HVPN provides, and where the line is

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Hudson Valley Private Nursing (HVPN) is an RN-led private nursing practice, operating through an individual New York RN professional practice model, not a licensed home care agency, staffing service, or multi-clinician practice. All services are provided personally by Andreen Robinson, MSN, RN, by appointment, and accepted case by case based on clinical fit, RN scope of practice, provider direction where required, patient safety, and availability.

What HVPN provides

Hands-on nursing care when clinically appropriate and supported by provider orders where required, plus caregiver education and healthcare navigation support, across eight defined programs: Post Hospital Recovery, Medication Safety, Complex Wound Recovery, Caregiver Education, Healthcare Navigation, Advanced Illness Support, Transitional Care, and Palliative Nursing Support. Each program page describes what that specific engagement includes. HVPN performs hands-on clinical care per individual provider orders for defined, episodic needs.

What HVPN does not provide

  • Continuous or recurring nursing coverage, nursing shifts, or overnight care
  • Licensed Home Care Services Agency, Certified Home Health Agency, or nurse staffing/placement services
  • Personal care aide, companion care, or home health aide services (bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping)
  • Physician-directed home health service episodes (requiring LHCSA or home health agency licensure and multi-provider coordination), or physical, occupational, or speech therapy
  • Hospice care, hospice-level services, or palliative care program enrollment or management
  • Home infusion management, IV therapy administration, or infusion agency services
  • Prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications, which stays with the patient’s physician or pharmacist
  • Case management, supervision of aides or staff, or licensed social work / care management services
  • Mental health counseling or social work services
  • Emergency or urgent clinical intervention of any kind

When a need falls into any of the categories above, HVPN will say so clearly and help identify the appropriate licensed provider rather than extending an engagement beyond appropriate individual RN scope.
